Abstract/Contents:Describes the conversion of the University of Richmond stadium from artificial turf to natural turf. States that "drainage, both external and internal, are excellent. Water management is critical to prevent leaching, but water demand by the turf is not any greater than turf on native soil. Chemicals have a longer and harder phytotoxic reaction in sand. And fertility must be monitored by soil or tissue sampling at frequent intervals...Playability and safety are great. And with careful management, and attention to detail, appearance is pretty good, too."
