Abstract/Contents:Discusses conservation efforts being undertaken to preserve "Golf House's vast array of books, photographs, papers and manuscripts, film and videotape." Items are being sent to the Northeast Document Conservation Center, "a non-profit facility near Boston established by New England's six state libraries in the early 1970s. Conservators there have been performing the painstaking work of treating items that are unique to the Golf House collection, such as a copy of the USGA's original constitution, drafted in 1894, and transcripts of its Annual Meetings from 1912 to 1928." Profiles the Northeast Document Conservation Center. States that "over the next four years, a steady stream of about 200 books will travel to NEDCC for...treatment. Then the project will shift slightly, to address the many archival papers and manuscripts donated to the USGA through the years."
