Abstract/Contents: | Pots filled with peat soil were used to grow oats, barley, meadow fescue, lucerne, red clover, berseem and soyabean plants in a replicated experiment in which Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and Co were given individually or in combination as soil treatment or foliar spray. Untreated plants exhibited trace element deficiencies which were more pronounced in the gramineous species. Deficiency was most severe for Mn and least severe for Cu. Soil treatment was ineffective as a trace element supply although leguminous species took up more through the soil than gramineous species. Foliar spray provided adequate trace element supply for all species. |
