| Abstract/Contents: | Presents an ongoing study which evaluates "three of the main new ultradwarfs [(FloraDwarf, TifEagle, and Champion)] for more than one year at the University of Florida FLREC in south Florida." Preliminary results show that TifEagle and Champion are doing best under the initial cultural management scheme, but their modest performance in 2000 suggests that fertilizer rates should be increased. States that "during the next cycle we plan on increasing fertility and documenting the impact of that change on other cultural practices such as topdressing." Concludes that "since this [is] a multiple-year experiment, we will have the opportunity to fine tune management to obtain the optimal performance for these grasses and observe pest pressures under more typical weather patterns for sub-tropical south Florida." |
