Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the upcomming water restrictions for Florida's lower east coast and Lake Okeechobee, despite the recent rains caused by tropical storm Helene and others. States that the 16-county area of the South West Florida water management district, as well as areas east of Tampa from Charlotte County north to Lake County are still under a temporary water shortage emergency declared April 25. Addresses water restrictions regarding when residents and landscapers can water, how much they are allowed to water and rules regulating watering when overseeding. Comments that "conservation advisories do not bode well for turfgrass this fall and winter." |
