Abstract/Contents: | Addresses the problem of brown patch in tall fescue turfgrass. Explains how the introduction of two genes will allow the tall fescue to produce the enzymes chitinase and glucanase which break down the fungal cell wall and prevent the fungus from growing inside plant tissue. States that, "the goals of our work are to introduce into tall fescue plants the two genes that encode chintinase and glucanase and to study the effects on brown-patch resistance." |
