Abstract/Contents: | Describes ways of controlling mole crickets. Stresses that irrigation and maintaining soil moisture are key factors in spreading pesticides into the soil to kill crickets in their tunnels. Explains that mole crickets often occur in the same places, so predicting where they will be from season to season based on where they were before can be fairly accurate. Describes how mole crickets can develop avoidance behavior because they have a sensory mechanism for detecting control agents. |
