Abstract/Contents: | "N annually at )300 kg/ha weakened meadow fescue and cocksfoot plants and resulted in extensive winter killing. The damage was greatest where the duration and depth of snow cover were great and where the previous cut had been taken in mid-Sept. Where winter killing did not occur, the swards given high N were less dense although high yielding, but in some instances the swards maintained satisfactory density for 5 years." |
