Abstract/Contents:Describes the method of reducing soil pH by applying lime. Explains that knowing the soil type and soil acidity through soil testing can help turf managers determine the necessary amount of lime. Provides examples to assist turf managers in calculating the proper amount of liming materials to apply to turf areas. Describes the proper application methods and rates for liming, suggesting that incorporating lime into soil "during lawn renovation through core aeration" can be an effective method of distributing lime throughout the rootzone.
