Abstract/Contents:Discusses the design of golf courses, focusing on the choice of property, the clubhouse and its surroundings, and the course and its development. States that "in the development of a golf course, as for other developments, considerations of access, surroundings, size, orientation, and character of land all enter in." States that "the clubhouse, large or small, should be located conveniently with reference to persons coming to the grounds, and must not be set too far away from the general drift of traffic." Also discusses the putting green, the "through-the-green", or fairway and rough, hazards, lines of play, orientation, variation in the lengths and distances, widths of the fairway, and the golf course plantings.
