| Abstract/Contents: | "During the period November 1960 to February 1961 a cover held up on a low pressure air protected the ground beneath so well that it provided a first class playing surface at all times. The amount of moisture in the soil was consistently less than that in the soil outside and the cover gave satisfactory pitch protection against frost and rain. Although light falls of snow were dealt with it seemed that heavu falls might cause considerable difficulty and possible collapse of the cover. The main source of trouble with this form of protection was undoubtedly the difficulty of keeping the cover inflated during periods of windy weather." |
