Abstract/Contents: | "Articulated credit transfer and two-plus-two programs are common in higher education. Four institutions of higher education in the upper midwest have entered into a collaborative educational program designed to serve place bound learners by drawing on the available resources of each of the partner institutions. Increasing the number of partners in a collaborative degree program from two institutions to four institutions, utilizing distance education delivery mechanisms and reliance on temporary (grant) funding has added to the complexity of this collaborative program. This paper will review selected literature on collaborative relationships in higher education to examine models of collaboration, critical success factors, barriers to success and resolving differences and present recommendations for a regional educational program utilizing distance education." |
