| Abstract/Contents: | "Growth, developmental rate, and survival of black cutworms, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufnagel), were compared among 12 cultivars of creeping bentgrass, Agrostis palustris Hudson. Larvae reared on the creeping bentgrass cultivars showed no significant differences in growth, development, and survival. These results indicate that currently available cultivars of creeping bentgrass will not provide resistance to black cutworms. Subsequently, other turfgrass species that demonstrate resistance, such as Kentucky bluegrass, should be investigated." |
