| Abstract/Contents: | "The effects of seeding rates on foliage cover, clipping weights and quality of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.), creeping red fescue (Festuca rubra var. rubra L.) and Chewings fescue (Festuca rubra var. commutata Gaud.) turf mixture were evaluated in the Bursa Region of Turkey for 3 years in 1994-1996. Seeding rates significantly affected foliage cover during establishment. Heavy seeding rates resulted in denser stands, higher clipping weights, and better turf quality than the light seeding rates during early stand establishment. However, these differences disappeared 3 months after seeding." |
