Abstract/Contents:Discusses the "trend toward more natural landscaping and lawn care," describing ways chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers can be harmful to the environment. Discusses the use of organic, environmentally sound approaches to lawn care, such as using organic fertilizers and biological insect controls, such as milky spore and parasitic nematodes. Also suggests alternatives to chemical fungicides, including preventative measures such as using a sharp mower blade to minimize grass blade healing time, removing overhanging tree branches, and improving drainage patterns. States that proper mowing can also minimize weed growth.
