| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the importance of regular preventive maintenance of 4 cycle gasoline lawn mower engines. Details different parts of the engine to periodically check: the air-cleaner assembly, carburetor throat, air intake screen and the oil. Recommends using clean fuel, however, suggests using the manufacturer's suggestion when choosing gasoline. Suggests that you "check the oil every time fuel is added." Summarizes the best viscosity for oil and the correlation between the quality of oil purchased and the decrease overall maintenance cost that owners have reported. Explains how to tune up an engine. Explains the importance of having "qualified personnel to perform more complex equipment maintenance (carburetor adjustments, installation of breaker points, etc.)." Outlines what to look for when examining spark plugs and proper carburetor adjustment. Addresses the importance of keeping the cooling system cool. |
