| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of the Stimpmeter to measure green speed. States that "the Stimpmeter can be a useful tool when wanting to compare putting surfaces on the course, but it is not intended for course comparisons." Explains how to calculate green speed, and describe factors that can influence speed. Also provides the USGA Green Section's guide to Stimpmeter readings. Concludes that "rather than a hindrance, the Stimpmeter can be a valuable aid to maintenance, helping to set a benchmark for regular membership play and competitions." |
