Abstract/Contents: | Paspalum vaginatum pastures were established on soils which had been denuded and physically degraded by over-irrigation with an industrial effluent containing a higher concentration of Na2SO4. The grass not only colonized the saline areas, but was able to tolerate further irrigation with the Na-rich effluent. The pasture herbage contained 9.34-13.6% CP and carried 4.6 animals/ha between July 1970 and June 1971. |
