Abstract/Contents:Presents an editorial discussing the prevelance of natural products and the increased use of natural products by turf managers. Discusses the first-year results of the Turfgrass Technology trial, which "show no major differences in overall turf performance between conventional fertiliser practices, organic-based stand-alone programs or supplementary products added to conventional fertilisers programs...the only significant difference has been in cost and time - with both being significantly higher with the natural products." Discusses the environmental impact of each approach, stating that "a turf manager in a particularly environmentally sensitive area may choose to use a `natural' product or management regime than a conventional one to reduce any damage, or potential damage, to the environment." Discusses the need for more turf trials to better educate turf managers on the uses and benefits of each approach. States that "it is in the best interest of all of us for turf managers to manage their turf in a way that is not damaging to the environment - but enhances it."
