Abstract/Contents: | Describes the renovation of University of Virginia's football field which featured the use of BASF's Basmid as an alternative to methyl bromide. Presents four steps for renovation: stripping turf, tilling, leveling, and gradually applying Basamid. States that "unlike methyl bromide, Basamid requires no tarping.... the crust must remain moist to work, so irrigation after the initial applicaiton of water is important." Advises using a lettuce test to check gases before sodding. |
