Abstract/Contents:States that the Westernization and modernization of Asian countries has increased interest in the golfing industry. Turfgrass selection is similar to courses in the United States with exception to Sarangoon grass (Digitaria didactyla) and seashore paspalum (Paspalum virginatum) used on some Asian courses. The growth rate is somewhat of a problem due to the lack of local expertise. In most of these areas, the industry depends heavily on Western products for their courses.
