Abstract/Contents:"Two different approaches for modeling of granular and cellular materials are presented. The first shows a packing procedure for the reconstruction and quantification of loose, granular media. The reconstruction takes into account the grain size distribution and the porosity of the investigated medium. The concept was examined for six sandy and sandy loam media. In the second apporach, a new, unified description of granular and cellular media is proposed, based on a theory similar to quantum mechanics."
