| Abstract/Contents: | "The importance of pre-fabricated turf is increasing more recently. This turf is used on public and private grounds as a means of protection against erosion as well as on sports grounds and golf courses. DIN 18035/4 determines the requirements for the construction of sports turf grounds. For the sowing of other areas than these, other mixtures and grass species are used to an increasing extent. In the fields of breeding and production the latest techniques are used by the leading producers. This guarantees brief periods for placement, and it is thus possible to carry it out nearly all the year round. The plant population depends to a great extent on the quality of the sod. The future development, after the initial growth, depends on the management." |
