Abstract/Contents:Discusses types of mowers to use, depending on the height of cut and the smoothness of the area and what to do to avoid scalping problems. States that most of rotary mowers can perform best with 1 to 4 inch cutting heights, and that reel mowers can cut lower than 1 inch. Also, notes that "clipping collection systems create a vacuum to aid clipping movement," but they "tend not to work effectively when the decks are too low to the ground."
