Abstract/Contents: | Evaluates the spatial distrubtion of southern chinch bugs in St. Augustinegrass. Reports on the "average number of chinch bugs around small infestations" and "the average number of chinch bugs around large infestations." Suggests that "to thoroughly treat these SCB 'hot spots' since this is where the insects are really concentrated." However, recommends that "future research is needed to determine the overall effect on all lawn athropods, pests and beneficials, if spot treatment or broad leaf coverage of insecticides is used for SCB control." |
