Abstract/Contents:Describes a study that "examined the temporal behaviors of dislodgeable turf residues of two pesticides that have been commonly used on lawns and estimated the extent to which they may be tracked into a home by normal foot traffic." Details how the test area was "a large lawn consisting of ca. 70% Kentucky bluegrass/30% clover with no recent history of pesticide application" and how "track-in experiments were conducted at 4 hr, 8 hr, 1 d, 3 d, and 5 d after application." Results include "chlorpyrifos turf residues may be expected to dissipate readily by virtue of its high volatility," "chlorothalonil residues...may be expected to be fairly persistent," and "track-in is proportional to residue dislodgeability rather than application rate."
