Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study evaluating "infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) technology for evaluating P, K, Ca, and Mg in bermudagrasses." Results include that "cultivar had a significant effect on NIRS-predicted K, Ca, and Mg...NIRS does not seem to be as sensitive to tissue K as the other elements analyzed...Mean NIRS-Mg concentrations were similar when compared to traditional analysis techniques in certain cultivars such as Tifway. However, NRS-Mg correlations were not as positively correlated as P and Ca...NIRS-predicted P, K, and Ca concentrations were consistently higher compared to traditional analysis techniques...Although results for certain cultivars were positively correlated, at this time precision is not sufficient enough to be useful." |
