| Abstract/Contents: | Addresses turf concerns which occur on the playing fields of polo. Provides a description of the game, the grounds it is played on, and the playing surface, as well as the difficulties of maintaining the grounds and surface. Also describes how to select maintenance operations for polo grounds. States that "beyond the basics of mowing and surface renovation an important part of the polo groundsman's job is the selection of the most appropriate allocation of resources to achieve the best result...Choosing how a particular club should most effectively spend its money may, however, require the truly independent advice that only STRI can offer." |
