Abstract/Contents:Describes a meeting between the GCSAA-organized ADA Golf Alliance and lawyers in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice to clarify the Department of Justice's positions on the ADA and golf. Provides background on the uncertainties and legal complaints associated with the ADA's application to golf courses. States that "issues that have been the subject of legal complaints include: whether golf courses must modify their policies to allow disabled golfers to take their golf cars off paths on overseeded, new or dormant turf; whether special golf cars for disabled golfers must be provided; controlling fraud." States that "An important step in resolution of the impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on golf was taken" at the meeting.
