Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the practice of overseeding fairways with ryegrass in order to maintain healthy bermudagrass. Explains how to get rid of ryegrass for the summer months. Describes three methods for removing ryegrass: chemical removal of ryegrass, chemical suppression of ryegrass, and allowing nature to take its course. Concludes that "choosing a method to transition your fairways can be affected by several factors. Climate, budget and golf expectations surely factor into deciding how to remove your ryegrass. Tournament schedules can also affect your decision...The main concern is to please your golfers and make the best choice that will provide quality bermudagrass in the summer." |
