| Abstract/Contents: | Construction of a turfgrass research center was initiated at TAES-Dallas in 1980. The field plots are situated on an Austin silty clay (Entic Haplustolls) with a 1-3 percent slope. The area is divided into irrigated and non-irrigated sites. A 1 acre shade nursery was completed in 1982. The trees and the surrounding turf are irrigated. A 4800-sq ft building was built to serve as storage area for equipment and supplies. There is also a maintenance area, offices, and two fully equipped laboratories. An examination of greenhouse facilities was also accomplished. Included are 6 walk-in controlled-environment rooms. A chart of test plots is included. |
