Abstract/Contents:Describes the "liquid gold" pyrethum plant, which "produces a naturally occurring pesticide that is highly effective against a broad spectrum of insects." Explains that "for the pest management industry, six closely related insecticide chemicals are extracted from the flower and used at low levels in pesticides for the management of cockroaches, pests in food handling areas and flying insects." Discusses the past problem with low pyrethrum production and yield. Describes the new "sophisticated plant breeding program, which increases yield and drives down costs." Concludes that "production of pyrethrum and reliability of supply is no longer an issue."
