Abstract/Contents:Discusses the political aspects of the Canadian golf course industry. Entertains the possibility that would-be turfgrass professionals might choose alternate careers because of recent events and industry politics. Describes a recent ban on leaf blowers, and the response it has received, stating that "the [B.C. Landscape and Nursery Association] has argued that not only will a ban on leaf blowers add greatly to the cost of doing this business, but will pose a public safety risk and will leave parks and other green areas less attractive." States that "turfgrass professionals have proven themselves as tough, undeterred pillars of the industry. They've put on brave faces and have not yielded to the roadblocks placed before them. They'll no doubt find their way around this latest detour as well."
