Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the risks involved in doing strenuous activity on artificial turf, due to higher temperatures. Cites a scientific study conducted at Texas A&M University in 1985, stating that "properly maintained bermudagrass was measured at 88° F, while synthetic turf in the same area was 158° F." Recommends that athletes of all ages take adequate breaks and stay hydrated, regardless of the field type or temperature. |
