Abstract/Contents:Describes the identifying characteristics and lifecycle of a fall armyworm. Explains that they feed on "warm season grasses such as bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass" and cool-season grasses such as bluegrass, ryegrass, fine fescue, and bentgrass. States "one of the most common indicators of a fall armyworm infestation is the presence of a large number of birds on or near the turf." Suggests the best way to control a fall armyworm problem is early detection. Also lists "insecticides registered for control of fall armyworm."
