Abstract/Contents:Discusses the difficulty with which southern golf courses deal when transitioning between cool-season grasses and warm-season grasses. States, "the objective of this experiment was to facilitate transition by attempting to increase soil temperature using Milorganite as a top-dressing. Individual, and combinations of other common cultural practices were also tested." States that the results "supported using high rates of fertilizer over topdressing with sand and verticutting," and that "this research has shown that high rates of Milorganite can be used to increase the speed of spring transition on FloraDwarf and Tifdwarf bermudagrasses."
