Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of a computer simulation to reduce golf course waiting time. Explains that in designing a course the golf course simulator (GCS) integrates actual time study statistics, architectual data, and a computer network. States that with this data, GCS can provide information on (1) course capacity, a revenue maximizing enhacement allowing course design permitting more players; (2) Waiting time profile, the wait at each hole presents potential layout improvements for smoother play; (3) Playing Time Data, measuring golfer's time on the course allows for design modification before construction, and comparisons with other course designs. Concludes that the desired effect is more playing and less waiting. |
