Abstract/Contents:Test established in Sept. 1981 to evaluate 7 seeding rates of Rebel Festuca arundinacea ranging from 1 to 20 lbs of seed/1000 ft2. The 4 replications are maintained at a 1.5" cutting height. Three lb N/1000 ft2 have been applied annually in the fall and early winter. A table provides a summary of the results, showing the seeding rate of 2 lb/1000 ft2 as having the highest 3 year (1982-84) average quality evaluation rating. Botanical counts were made in Dec. and counted from 4-4" diameter plugs. Results indicate P. pratensis encroached into the plots even though none was originally seeded.
