| Abstract/Contents: | Test established 9/81 to evaluate Rebel tall fescue seeded alone and in mixtures with 10%, 20%, and 50% (by weight) of Adelphi Kentucky bluegrass, Derby perennial ryegrass, Ky 31 tall fescue or annual ryegrass. The test has four replications and is maintained at a 1.5 inch mowing height. Three pounds of nitrogen per 1000 ft2 have been applied annually during the fall and early winter. Quality ratings in 1984 were taken in May, July and October. 1984 botanical counts were taken in December from four 4-inch diameter plugs. A table provides 1982-84 annual visual quality ratings and 1984 botanical counts. Rebel/Adelphi and Rebel/Derby mixtures had slightly higher quality ratings than Rebel alone. |
