| Abstract/Contents: | 1984 test to provide Kentucky information on the control of dollar spot (caused by the fungus Sclerotinia homeocarpa, now identified as Lanzia and Moellerodiscus). "Experimental plots of Agrostis stolonifera subsp. palustris were established, received conventional care with minimum nitrogen fertilization, and were maintained at a 0.25" cutting height. Most treatments were applied at 25 psi with a backpack sprayer equipped with a 6 ft boom having 4 nozzles and delivering 2 gal/1000 ft2. Bayleton 0.5G was distributed by hand. Treatments were applied to 6X5' plots replicated 5 times. Except as noted (in table), plots were treated biweekly from 16 May to 15 Aug. GX-077-A 40% ws not applied until 13 June. Plots were evaluated 22 June and 23 Aug by # infection centers/plot." An included table shows that no disease was observed at the start of the test, but symptoms of Lanzia, Moellerodiscus became very evident as the season progressed. All treatments except GX-077-A gave significant disease control, with Bayleton 25 DF and all Banner treatments providing the best control. No phytotoxicity was observed. |
