| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the projects currently underway that evaluate cultivars of grass species for use in Georgia. Discusses the high and low maintenance bermudagrass cultivar trials, discussing the cultivars being evaluated, as well as the maintenance practices used on these cultivars during the study. Discusses the St. Augustinegrass evaluations underway, focusing on the maintenance practices applied, and listing the cultivars to be evaluated. Discusses the tall fescue trial and its management regimen, listing the cultivars studied and listing 5GL, Rebel, K-31, Chesapeake, Jaguar, and Falcon as exhibiting the best performance so far. Discusses the Kentucky bluegrass cultivar trials underway, focusing on the management practices employed in the trial, as well as listing the cultivars under evaluation. Lists the best cultivars so far as: Ba 70-139, BAR VB 534, Barzan, Harmony, WW Ag 491, Sydsport, Baron and Cynthia. Discusses the fine-leaf fescue trial underway, listing the 48 cultivars under evaluation and detailing the management practices employed. States that "no fine-leaf fescue has produced an acceptable quality turf during the summer months." |
