| Abstract/Contents: | Describes factors that can result in a need to reconstruct golf course greens. Discusses how "rebuilding putting greens...is actually a complex process with many opportunities for problems to arise." Describes how "the golf course superintendent is in the best position to implement and conduct a good quality-control program to help ensure the [reconstruction] project's success." Discusses how a superintendent should research suppliers of rootzone materials, and have a laboratory analyze samples of the materials to gather information for making a decision on which materials to use for the project. Suggests that ultimately, it should be a course representative (ideally the superintendent) that makes the decision on which materials to use for the project. States that a superintendent should have a 200 ton batch of blended rootzone material made and should take sample of the blended rootzone material to the laboratory for analaysis to ensure that the blend will be acceptable, and to determine target values for the blend. Describes how mass production of the rootzone "should be blended in 1,000 ton increments, a quantity acceptable for most projects" but that "500-ton lots will provide a greater degree of quality control." Discusses how each lot should be tested for quality control. Also provides suggestions for avoiding contractual disputes. |

Abstract
(Thanks to DTRF) | "KRC Genk (Koninklijke Racing Club Genk) is al jaren een topper in de Belgische voetballerij. In april 2006 staan ze op een derde plaats in de nationale competitie. Het ruime Fenixstadion net buiten Genk biedt plaats aan 25.000 toeschouwers. Het zijn trouwe supporters die vaak in gezinsverband naar de wedstrijden komen kijken. Belgisch Limburg is vanouds een streek waar veel Italianen wonen. Zij kwamen vanuit hun land naar de Belgische mijnen om daar te werken. Zo ook de ouders van terreinbeheerder Rolando Amorosi. Hijzelf heeft ook nog onder de grond gewerkt, maar is met zijn 54 jaren alweer een aantal jaren gepensioneerd. 'Toen de mijnen sloten zijn wij met een goed pensioen naar huis gestuurd.' Voetbalgek Rolando ging vanaf 1992 werken bij Racing Genk. Aanvankelijk parttime, maar momenteel is de sympathieke Belgische Italiaan fulltime aan de slag op het gras bij de Genkse voetbaltopper" |
