| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a new innovative scheme that will run for three years and enable golf clubs across England to benefit from free environmental management advice. Objectives of the scheme are as follows: "1) to help golf clubs conserve the wildlife and habitats on their courses and to the benefit of the club and its members. 2) Discuss environmental issues, generate awareness, interest and enthusiasm. 3) Review and develop management plans, identify the main ecological/environmental features. 4) Recommend sustainable management practice. Monitor results. 5) Identify funding opportunities and additional external sources of advice." Concludes by discussing how an EGU affiliated golf club could apply for the environmental advisory service. |
