Abstract/Contents: | Describes the use of landscaping for fire protection. Discusses the selection of "plant species which do not support fire readily," the use of such plants "in the landscape in ways that will help protect the home and other structures," the importance of irrigation and maintenance, and strategies for areas "where water is not readily available." Includes recommendations of specific species and practices as well as the general principles of landscaping for fire protection. |
