Abstract/Contents:Discusses the City of Burley Golf Course's experience with deep tine aeration. Brett Winn, superintendent of the course, comments that "what a different deep tine aeration made. It softened the greens and we improved percolation to the roots." Discusses the purchase of a vertidrain for aeration. States that "I understand how important it is to aerate and that members don't like it and often don't understand the need. It is vital to explain to the members that aeration is necessary, whether it be deep tine or conventional core aeration."
