| Abstract/Contents: | 1985 update of 3 tests to evaluate varieties of tall fescue under Kentucky climatic conditions. Two tests are presently being maintained near Lexington, Ky. Test 1, established in 1976, included ten cultivars with 3 replications. These cultivars were maintained at a 2 inch mowing height and without regular irrigation. Three pounds of nitrogen per 1000 square feet were applied annually during the fall and early winter. This test was concluded in 1985 and a summary of results appears in a table. Test 2, established in 1982, includes 46 named and experimental varieties. Three replications are maintained at a 1.5 inch height and three at a 3 inch height. Three pounds of nitrogen per 1000 ft2 are applied annually during the fall and early winter. A summary of results appears in 2 tables. Test 3, established in 1983, is included in the National Tall Fescue Variety Test These cultivars were maintained at a 1.5 inch mowing height and without regular irrigation. A summary of results appears in a table. |
