Abstract/Contents:Discusses multi-sport turf fields and the transition to sand-based baseball fields. States that "in the so-called 'baseball only' stadiums, there's a need to generate additional income to operate effectively, even though there are logistical issues to overcome." Concludes that "there are many ideas centering around indoor turf development - from transplanting huge grids that fit together like a puzzle to bringing in an entire field on a rail sysytem - which would allow for multi-use. There is also aggressive research into the development of various 'super grasses,' which are part synthetic and part natural."
