Abstract/Contents:"Results from this trial showed that the response from these fertilizers was quite short following the first application, but that significant improvement in colour and density ratings were obtained after the second application. This finding is consistent with some of our other observations as it seems necessary to 'prime the pump' with an initial application when turf has not been fertilized for some time. This second application gave a longer response despite cold fall temperatures. Averaged ratings showed that the Super Green 75% at the higher rate had significantly higher overall rating than all other fertilizer applications. Density ratings for the Super Green 50% and Super Green 75% at the higher rate were superior to all others. The formulation of the products would indicate that in spite of the cold temperatures encountered the three fertilizers Super Green 50%, Super Green 75% and Scotts Turf Builder promoted a good response in the turf. In the cold temperatures the Super Green 85% appeared to release nitrogen more slowly."
