Abstract/Contents:"Sixteen nitrogen fertilizers were applied to established Kentucky Bluegrass turf. The fertilizers included examples of quick release synthetics, slow release synthetics and organics from biological sources. Response to the applications was measured in terms of increased vegetative growth, colour improvement, percent ground cover and turf density. Quick release synthetic products had the greatest influence on growth, colour and density of the turf[.] Some of the slow release synthetics provided a residual effect from the previous year that led to quicker green-up in spring. Most of the organic products provided lower levels of response than the synthetic products in the categories measured."
