Abstract/Contents: | States that "to ensure peak irrigation system performance the system must be designed to take into account evapotranspiration, landscape coefficients, soil type and irrigation system efficiencies." Gives and equation and explains how to calculate the amount of evapotranspiration that must be factored into the irrigation system. Stresses the importance of the available water storage capacity, rooting depth, and soil water storage. Explains several other factors that must be entailed into the irrigation system, and gives an example of a water budget with sample data. |
